Transferring Old AOL Stories
Inspired to work on Sralos.com because of the new design and the fact that I have so much time on my hands, I've decided to finally transfer the old AOL stories to this site. The process is likely to be time consuming, which is good. :) And this kind of task sharpens the mind.
First, I'll have to look over the old stories and see how best to organize them. Next, I'll have to find a way to credit the author. I do not even know the real names of most of the people I used to game with, so the only thing I can think of to do is to credit the user name of whomever made the original post. Should probably leave a message somewhere telling authors to contact me if they want the credit changed. I am assuming I still have permission to display the stories.
Need to go to Views and add a special field to credit the author. Hopefully there is a way to limit the field to myself only. Don't want anyone to think I let people post whatever they want so long as they give credit.

Book Default Sort Order
As I was reposting the stories I was reminded of a basic flaw of the Book module. The default sort order is alphebetically. That's so stupid. It's supposed to be a book. It's supposed to be in order. It seems logical to me to have the default order be oldest first. As I was struggling to find a way to fix this problem (Drupal is no help), I found that the first 13 posts from the old boards are not in order. The only thing I can think of is that the board orginally sorted by newest first. The board actually wrote a static HTML page and gave it a number. I think I hard coded the table of contents to list those few in that order, and then I changed the code on the message board application to list all future posts as oldest first. ::Sigh::
Missing Stories
Sadly, I've discovered that some of the old stories are lost forever. I cannot find the stuff from the old Forest House folder on AOL, and at least three of the stories from the Sralos Boards are missing. It seems that during one of my many moves I must have lost my backups.
This sucks so bad. :(
